Andrea Kaus (ChaosGraphics) > Reach out (Aug. 19, 2008) Another shot from the BLM Wild Horse and Burros sale. This father and daughter looked like they were serious about selecting a horse to take home. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Andrea Kaus (ChaosGraphics) > Wild thing! You make my heart sing! (Aug. 18, 2008) I went on a field trip with a bunch of botanists today. (I think that is the correct collective name for them, or is it a bevy?) They were looking for wild and hybrid California Walnut trees. This was the wild one . . . or was it the hybrid one? Sigh. I couldn't keep it straight. Nice tree though.
Andrea Kaus (ChaosGraphics) > Pick me. I've already picked you. (August 17, 2008) This was taken in Norco, CA, today where the BLM was holding a wild horse and burro sale as part of the government adoption program: http://www.blm.gov/wo/st/en/prog/wild_horse_and_burro.html These two hit it off right away. However, I don't think the BLM was able to adopt out very many of the horses and burros this time. Bad economic times have hit the horse industry here hard, and there were very few people there.
Andrea Kaus (ChaosGraphics) > Sittin' on the dock of the bay (Aug. 16, 2008) From Sunset Cliffs, straight out of the camera. We had an Aikido seminar there today. No time for photos there, and I'm exhausted. I'll catch up with the dp community shots tomorrow.

Andrea Kaus (ChaosGraphics) > Do you have a model release? (Aug. 14, 2008) Okay, so this was taken a few days ago, but I saw the same orioles doing the same thing on the same agave stem today. Does that count? I thought I'd give them a break. Too bad about the great big blob of dead leaf in the background. If it weren't so late, I'd clone it out. But it is, so I won't.

Andrea Kaus (ChaosGraphics) > Buzzkill (August 11, 2008) And this little kestrel is the killjoy that ended the fun at yesterday's agave party.
Andrea Kaus (ChaosGraphics) > Dream big (August 10, 2008) Hummer & Agave bloom. I watched this hummer get chased by a tarantula wasp and then duke it out with the orioles for the agave seeds. But then the whole kerfuffle was ended by the arrival of a kestrel. I may post that tomorrow. I'm watching the Olympic coverage right now. I'll catch up with y'all later. Bike races this weekend were amazing and, surprisingly, I got caught up with the mens beach volleyball too. No coverage of judo or the equestrian events yet, except on the internet.

Andrea Kaus (ChaosGraphics) > The art of getting the hell out of the way (August 8, 2008) I thought I'd try out the video on the G9 and uploading on Smugmug. Both are better than my current abilities -- this is not great videography, just fun camera practice in the middle of Aikido training. Jim is showing a technique to the class where you cannot stop the motion. The music is from the next room -- we rent space in a dance center.

I was looking through the fantastic entries on the dgrin challenges and was taken with the minichallenge of the Every Day Mundane, just as a personal fun challenge.
